Wow, its all i can say after wasting my time watching this movie. It was the first time I have ever seen this movie in its entirety. I have, like all of you, seen the amazing acting in the various death scenes on You Tube. Troll 2 is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, I guess that seeing these caliber of movies comes with the territory though. There is not much that I liked of this movie, I really can't think of one scene that i enjoyed.
This movie has nothing to do with the original Troll, in fact there are no Trolls in this movie whatsoever. This movie has to do with Goblins not Trolls or Harry Potter (see Troll). There is a little kid in this movie who sees visions of his dead grandfather. The kid's family goes to some town to vacation (I have no idea why) called Nilbog. This town is a crap hole, its desolate and no place for a proper vacation. Anyway... There are Goblins there who want you to eat some vegan crap to fill your veins with chlorophyll, so they can eat you. Its a stupid premise with a stupid cast and terrible acting.
The kid in this movie is played by Michael Stephenson, who actually directed a documentary about this film. He would always refer to this movie as the Best, Worst movie ever made. I would almost have to agree with him. I was incredibly bored with this movie but I can see how it would be funny if you were joshing around with your friends about the acting or horribly delivered lines. Did you know that a soft core porn star was the costume designer and she made costumes for all of the Goblins. In fact there were about 20 masks made for the film but only one had a working mouth, The others were inanimate. Wow what a horrible movie, 2 of 10 for Troll 2.
Want a clue? Hold this up in the mirror NILBOG!!!
- In fall 2007, during a special screening in New York, the cast members said that during production, they had serious doubts about how the movie would work. The entire crew spoke only Italian, except for the costume designer, who translated the director's directions to the actors.
- Although the movie was titled "Troll 2" to capitalize on the minor success of Troll, it has no connection to the plot or production of the earlier film.
- Director Claudio Fragasso and his wife Rossella Drudi, who only spoke Italian, wrote the screenplay in very poor English. On set, the actors suggested they ad-lib their lines, to make the dialog sound better. Fragasso forbade that; all of the lines had to be read as written.
